Key findings
Tribunal's reasoningThe claimant was employed by the respondent as a Homelessness Assistant and was dismissed with effect from 31 January 2024 for misconduct arising from events on 23 June 2023. The tribunal identified the claims before it as ordinary unfair dismissal and two complaints of unfavourable treatment because of something arising in consequence of disability, relying on dyslexia as the disability.
The respondent conceded that the claimant had dyslexia, that it was a disability, that it knew of the disability, and that grammatical difficulties and the time taken to prepare notices to quit were at least in principle something arising in consequence of disability. The tribunal recorded that the section 15 complaints related to events in 2022 rather than 2023 and were significantly out of time.
On the unfair dismissal claim, the tribunal found that the essential facts were substantially undisputed and that the respondent could reasonably conclude the claimant was guilty of gross misconduct and that dismissal was the appropriate sanction. It concluded that the dismissal was fair and dismissed the claimant's entire claim.

How we got this data
Case essentials (reference, date, judge, venue, country, claim categories) are extracted from the structured metadata gov.uk publishes alongside each decision. Parties and monetary figures are extracted from the judgment PDF text. Key findings and per-claim outcomes require a second extraction pass that is not yet complete for this case — until then, the primary source linked above is the authoritative record.
