How Tribunal Watch handles personal data

Tribunal Watch publishes information drawn from the public employment-tribunal record. This page explains what personal data appears on the site, why, and your rights under UK GDPR.

What we publish

Each indexed decision shows the case reference, decision date, judge, venue, jurisdiction, claimant name (as written in the judgment), respondent name(s), claim types, and any monetary award. The original judgment PDF is linked back to gov.uk; we do not host modified copies.

Lawful basis

Our lawful basis for publishing personal data within these decisions is legitimate interests (UK GDPR Art. 6(1)(f)) — specifically, the public interest in the transparent administration of justice and the open availability of tribunal decisions, which HMCTS already publishes under the Open Government Licence. Special category data (e.g. references to disability, religion, or sexual orientation contained within judgments) is processed under Art. 9(2)(g) (substantial public interest) read with Schedule 1 Part 2 of the Data Protection Act 2018, paragraph 13 (judicial and statutory purposes).

Your rights

Under UK GDPR you have the right to access, rectify, restrict, or object to our processing of your personal data, and the right to erasure where applicable. The right to erasure is qualified for information already in the public record under judicial process. Requests should be made via the takedown / data-subject requestspage. If you remain unsatisfied with our response, you may complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.

Cookies and analytics

The site sets no tracking cookies and runs no third-party analytics. Aggregate request logs are retained for a short period for operational and security purposes only.
