Key findings
Tribunal's reasoningThe hearing took place remotely by CVP in Leeds on 9, 10 and 11 November 2020 before Employment Judge Lancaster, with Ms BR Hodgkinson and Ms J Noble as members. The tribunal upheld the pregnancy discrimination complaint only to a limited extent: it found that the Respondent treated the Claimant unfavourably by failing to carry out an individual risk assessment after receiving written notice on 13 March 2019 that she was pregnant.
All other complaints of discrimination because of pregnancy or sex were dismissed. On the successful discrimination complaint, the tribunal awarded £3,000 for injury to feelings and interest at 8% per annum from 13 March 2019 to the date of judgment, assessed at £360.30.
The tribunal also found that the Claimant had been wrongfully dismissed on insufficient notice and/or had not been paid for the notice period. It allowed the breach of contract claim and awarded damages of 2 days' pay, gross £126.92. The complaint of automatically unfair dismissal was dismissed.
The complaint of unauthorised deduction from wages, said to arise from the week 9 to 15 May 2019 when the Claimant was paid statutory sick pay rather than full pay, was also dismissed.

How we got this data
Case essentials (reference, date, judge, venue, country, claim categories) are extracted from the structured metadata gov.uk publishes alongside each decision. Parties and monetary figures are extracted from the judgment PDF text. Key findings and per-claim outcomes require a second extraction pass that is not yet complete for this case — until then, the primary source linked above is the authoritative record.
