By notice dated 26 April 2019 the parties were listed for a further preliminary hearing to determine timeliness issues, any extension of time, the issues for the final hearing, and any preparatory orders. The hearing took place at Leeds on 14 June 2019 before Employment Judge Wedderspoon. The claimant did not attend and was not represented; the respondent was represented by Mr G. Grime, solicitor, and an interpreter was present.

At 10.10 a.m. there had been no contact from the claimant or her representative explaining the absence. The tribunal clerk attempted to contact the claimant’s representative by telephone and left a voicemail message, but by 10.25 a.m. there was still no attendance and no contact with the tribunal. The tribunal accepted the respondent’s application and dismissed the claims on the basis that the claimant had failed to pursue them by failing to attend the hearing. The judgment records no merits findings and no monetary award.
