Key findings
Tribunal's reasoningThe claim was issued on 31 July 2020 and the respondent did not present a valid response in time. The Employment Judge therefore determined the matter on the papers under rule 21 of the Employment Tribunals Rules of Procedure 2013.
The tribunal found that the claimant had suffered deductions from wages for June 2020 and for the period up to 16 July 2020, and awarded £4,273.08 gross. It also found that the claimant was dismissed in breach of contract in respect of 3 months' notice and awarded £8,250 gross in damages. In addition, the tribunal held that the claimant was dismissed by reason of redundancy and was entitled to a redundancy payment of £1,614 gross, calculated using the statutory capped weekly rate of £538.
The tribunal further found that holiday entitlement had not been paid and awarded £1,523.08 gross. It held that the claimant's 2019 bonus entitlement, calculated at 1% of personal sales and 1% of showroom sales, had not been paid and awarded £12,061.72 gross. The tribunal also found that pension deductions had been made but not paid to NEST since June 2019, and awarded £1,654.68 gross for employee contributions and £1,034.28 gross for employer contributions. The total award was £30,410.84 gross, and the claimant was responsible for any sums due to HMRC for tax or national insurance. The hearing listed for 18 October 2022 was cancelled.

How we got this data
Case essentials (reference, date, judge, venue, country, claim categories) are extracted from the structured metadata gov.uk publishes alongside each decision. Parties and monetary figures are extracted from the judgment PDF text. Key findings and per-claim outcomes require a second extraction pass that is not yet complete for this case — until then, the primary source linked above is the authoritative record.
