The tribunal proceeded under rule 21 because the respondent failed to present a valid response on time. On that basis, the Employment Judge determined the claim or parts of it without a hearing and entered judgment for the claimant on the monetary claims set out in the judgment.

The tribunal found that the respondent had made an unauthorised deduction from the claimant's wages and ordered payment of £300.00 gross. It also found that the claimant had been dismissed by reason of redundancy and was entitled to a redundancy payment of £692.32.

The tribunal further found that the respondent had failed to pay the claimant's holiday entitlement and ordered payment of £1,021.29 gross, calculated by reference to 14.75 hours at £69.24 per day. The judgment also included an interest notice stating that unpaid sums could carry interest if not paid within 14 days after the relevant decision day, which was recorded as 7 July 2022, with the calculation day as 8 July 2022 and the stipulated rate as 8%.
