Mr R Johnson v Zugers Bromborough Limited (in voluntary liquidation) — 2021

On 18 October 2021, Employment Judge Slater entered a Rule 21 judgment for Mr R Johnson against Zugers Bromborough Limited (in voluntary liquidation) on four monetary claims. The tribunal found an unauthorised deduction from wages for 4 hours' work and ordered payment of £37.48 gross; found a breach of contract as to notice and ordered £3,092.10, described as a net sum based on the claimant's gross pay because tax may be due as Post Employment Notice Pay; found that the claimant was dismissed by reason of redundancy and awarded a redundancy payment of £4,638.15; and found a further unauthorised deduction from wages for accrued but untaken holiday pay and ordered £1,124.40 gross.

The judgment did not determine the unfair dismissal complaint. It stated that the unfair dismissal complaint would be dealt with at a hearing to be notified unless the claimant withdrew that complaint. The attached interest notice stated that sums unpaid after 14 days would carry interest under the Employment Tribunals (Interest) Order 1990 at the stipulated rate of 8% from 19 October 2021.
