Key findings
Tribunal's reasoningThe final hearing took place remotely at Newcastle on 3 April 2024 before Employment Judge Sweeney. The claimant did not attend. The respondent attended through its director, Simon Barnett, together with a witness, Mr Dodgon. The tribunal had sent notice of the hearing on 8 December 2023 and had later sent joining instructions on 2 April 2024.
When the claimant failed to join, the tribunal clerk telephoned her. She said that she was not intending to join the hearing and that she had withdrawn her claims because she had moved on with her life. She also said she had told the tribunal before Christmas that she had withdrawn, but no written withdrawal had been received. She was asked to confirm withdrawal by email, but the judgment records that no confirmation was received.
The tribunal noted a history of the claimant not responding to tribunal correspondence, including letters dated 25 January 2024, 11 March 2024 and 22 March 2024, and that she had not complied with tribunal directions. Having established the reason for her non-attendance and concluded that she had no intention of attending or proceeding, the tribunal dismissed the claims of unfair dismissal and failure to pay holiday pay under Rule 47 of the Employment Tribunals Rules of Procedure 2013.

How we got this data
Case essentials (reference, date, judge, venue, country, claim categories) are extracted from the structured metadata gov.uk publishes alongside each decision. Parties and monetary figures are extracted from the judgment PDF text. Key findings and per-claim outcomes require a second extraction pass that is not yet complete for this case — until then, the primary source linked above is the authoritative record.
