Key findings
Tribunal's reasoningThis was an open preliminary hearing before Employment Judge Alliott sitting alone on 12 August 2020. The claimant appeared in person and the respondent was represented by counsel. The claimant had been employed by the respondent as a Logistics Co-ordinator from 18 February 2008 until resignation with effect from 19 July 2019, and the claim form was presented on 6 December 2019.
The tribunal dealt with limitation issues only. It found that the unfair dismissal claim had been presented out of time, but that it was not reasonably practicable to present the claim in time and that it had been presented within such period as the tribunal considered reasonable. It also found that the race discrimination claim had been presented within a period that was just and equitable. On that basis, the respondent’s application for strike out and/or deposit orders was dismissed.
The judgment did not determine liability on either substantive claim. Instead, it set the matter down for a final hearing at which all issues, including remedy, would be decided. The case management orders record that the final hearing was to determine the unfair dismissal and race discrimination complaints, with a five-day estimate and directions for disclosure, witness statements, and a schedule of loss.

How we got this data
Case essentials (reference, date, judge, venue, country, claim categories) are extracted from the structured metadata gov.uk publishes alongside each decision. Parties and monetary figures are extracted from the judgment PDF text. Key findings and per-claim outcomes require a second extraction pass that is not yet complete for this case — until then, the primary source linked above is the authoritative record.
