Mr K Donnachie, a community living disability charge nurse with 32 years’ service, was dismissed by Greater Glasgow Health Board after complaints from Living Ambitions staff about his conduct towards a service user referred to as Patient A. The allegations included entering A’s bed while A was asleep, using footballs to enlarge A’s breast area, restricting A’s movement, touching A in ways said to be unwelcome, and asking a staff member to marry him. The tribunal recorded that the respondent treated the allegations as a conduct matter, carried out an investigation, and then held a disciplinary hearing before Colin McCormack, who dismissed the claimant in November 2022; the appeal was heard by Suzanne Miller and was not upheld in June 2023.
