Key findings
Tribunal's reasoningThe tribunal found that Mr J Beech had a disability at the relevant time for the purposes of s.6 Equality Act 2010. It then rejected each of the disability discrimination claims pleaded by him. The claims of direct disability discrimination under s.13, discrimination arising from disability under s.15, failure to make reasonable adjustments under ss.20 and 21, and disability-related harassment under s.26 were each not upheld and dismissed.
The tribunal also found that the claimant had conducted the proceedings unreasonably. It held that he had failed to provide a witness statement in time, which led to the hearing listed for 2 to 4 December 2024 having to be postponed, and that he had made allegations in the proceedings which he admitted were not true. On that basis, and taking into account the limited information available about the claimant's means, the tribunal made a costs order against him in the sum of £600.

How we got this data
Case essentials (reference, date, judge, venue, country, claim categories) are extracted from the structured metadata gov.uk publishes alongside each decision. Parties and monetary figures are extracted from the judgment PDF text. Key findings and per-claim outcomes require a second extraction pass that is not yet complete for this case — until then, the primary source linked above is the authoritative record.
