Mr. Carmel Rebelo v Serco Limited — 2024

At a public preliminary hearing heard by CVP on 28 May 2024, Employment Judge Othen considered limitation only. The tribunal recorded that the claimant, Mr Carmel Rebelo, was represented in person and the respondent by Mr Moss, consultant. No lay members are listed on the judgment.

The tribunal held that the direct race discrimination claim and the harassment related to race claim against Maxine Gedling were not presented within the applicable time limit. It further held that it was not just and equitable to extend the time limit.

The same limitation finding was made in relation to the direct race discrimination claims against Steve Gedling and Mark Demian. All of the claims identified in the judgment were therefore dismissed, and no remedy was awarded.
