Key findings
Tribunal's reasoningAt the preliminary hearing on 18 August 2022 at Reading, Employment Judge Gumbiti-Zimuto recorded that the respondent conceded the claimant was a disabled person within the meaning of the Equality Act 2010 by reason of anxiety and stress. The tribunal also adjudged that the claimant was a disabled person by reason of back pain, and further that he had been a disabled person at all relevant times since October 2019.
This judgment was case management in nature and did not decide liability on the pleaded complaints. The case summary recorded complaints of direct disability discrimination, discrimination arising from disability, and unauthorised deductions from wages, but the document did not determine those issues. It listed the matters for the final hearing and directions for exchange of documents and witness statements.
The tribunal directed that the final hearing would take place on 2 to 4 April 2024 before an Employment Judge and two non-legal members. It also ordered the claimant to provide a Schedule of Loss by 15 September 2022, and stated that unless that order was complied with the claimant’s remedy in the conjoined cases would be limited to a declaration and injury to feelings, if appropriate.

Parties and monetary figures are extracted from the judgment PDF text. Key findings and per-claim outcomes require a second extraction pass that is not yet complete for this case — until then, the primary source linked above is the authoritative record.
